Statutes of the Forces of National Liberation (FLN) was first published in Mexico by the founding organization of the Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN). It outlines the politics and organization of the FLN as it existed at the time and its strategy for revolution. Not all went as planned though. As the EZLN developed and gained organizing success in Chiapas, it integrated the more anti-authoritarian approach of the Indigenous communities into its structure, while the FLN fell into disarray as a national organization and disappeared from the political scene of Mexico. Published for the first time in English, this document provides an interesting background to the original EZLN, of which very little is known outside Mexico.
